  1. Clinical trial

    Radiosensitization by tinidazole: pharmacokinetic study

Cossu F et al., International Journal of Clinical Pharmacology Research, 1986

In radiotherapy patients, the highest tinidazole dose studied reached plasma and intratumoural concentrations comparable to those giving an in vitro radiosensitizing enhancement factor of about 1.5, and tolerance was reported as excellent.

  2. In vivo

In vivo testing of hypoxic radiosensitizers using the KHT murine tumour assayed by the lung-colony technique

Rauth AM et al., British Journal of Radiology, 1975

Among eleven candidate hypoxic cell sensitizers tested in the KHT murine tumour, metronidazole and tinidazole given intraperitoneally produced an enhancement ratio of about 1.5 for chronically hypoxic cells in air-breathing mice.
